Jacksonville Jaguars

Commitment to sport and society

LGT Vestra US founding partner of the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars

Our partnership with the Jacksonville Jaguars stems from mutual transatlantic business interests and a shared entrepreneurial vision. LGT Vestra US was established to meet the growing need from clients with a transatlantic footprint for suitable investment solutions. The Jaguars were the first and only team to make a multi-year commitment to play in the NFL London Games.

In addition to working together in a business capacity, the partnership includes community outreach projects. These projects aim to generate a positive impact on the community in London through a range of American football related activities.

Gridiron Grant

The Gridiron Grant is the next stage of our partnership with the Jacksonville Jaguars, a first of its kind scholarship programme in the UK, offering a university scholarship to two students graduating from the Jacksonville Jaguars JagTag programme, or who are involved in American football in their community.

A panel of experts, including LGT Vestra US executives, Jaguars representatives and an award winning head teacher will select the winners of the Gridiron Grant based on a range of criteria including academic achievement, participation in American football, commitment to the community and a demonstration of personal endeavour. The inaugural recipients will be announced later this year following the completion of the academic year. Once at university, students will be provided with a fully integrated mentoring process to aid with stress and time management and support required to help them graduate. Students interested in the opportunity have until 20th April 2018 to apply via this link.

We announced the Gridiron Grant scholarship to the JagTag students with help from former Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback and Super Bowl winner, Mark Brunell.

Flag football tournament

On the opening day of the 2018 NFL draft, we hosted our second flag football tournament at the HAC in support of the London Warriors.

12 teams participated in the tournament with our partners, the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars, running the football formalities.

We raised £6000 for the London Warriors Urban American Football Program, which combined with last year's amount, will go a long way to support the young people in the London Warriors program on and off the field.

Who are the Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars are a professional American football team based in Jacksonville, Florida. They are members of the South Division of the American Football Conference (AFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The Jaguars joined the NFL as an expansion team in 1995 and are owned by Shahid Khan, who is also owner of Fulham Football Club.

The club plays their home games at EverBank Field, located near the St. Johns River in downtown Jacksonville. The team headquarters is also located in the stadium. Since their inception in 1995 the Jaguars have won two division championships and have made six playoff appearances.

The Jaguars have agreed to play one home game each year at Wembley Stadium in London, UK until 2020. They first played in 2013 against San Francisco 49ers, followed in 2014 by the Dallas Cowboys. The Jaguars beat the Buffalo Bills 34-31 at Wembley in 2015 and followed that with a 30-27 win over the Indianapolis Colts in 2016. In 2017, the Jaguars beat the Baltimore Ravens 44-7, their fifth home game at Wembley and this October will take on reigning Super Bowl Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles.
