NFL UK

The NFL is the highest professional level of American football in the world with 32 teams making up the league. Since 2007, 14 NFL season games have been played at Wembley Stadium. The fan support of football in the UK is significantly rising each year.

Since 2007 over one million fans have attended an International Series game at Wembley. In response to outstanding and growing fan support of football in the UK, in 2014 the NFL took the historic step in its international development to stage three regular-season games in the UK:

  • The Miami Dolphins beat the Oakland Raiders 38-14 in Week 4
  • The Atlanta Falcons lost 22-21 to the Detroit Lions in Week 8
  • The Dallas Cowboys beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 31-17 in Week 10.

Three more games were then hosted at Wembley Stadium in 2014:

  • The New York Jets beat the Miami Dolphins 27-14
  • The Jacksonville Jaguars narrowly defeated the Buffalo Bills 34-31
  • The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Detroit Lions 45-10.

Sky Sports and the BBC cover the sport with the Super Bowl broadcast live from these channels. In February 2014 this attracted a combined audience of 4.3 million (Source: http://www.nfluk.com/)
